Meet the Artists
Margo Engels, Jeweler

I have been making jewelry for many years but got more serious six years ago. I work predominantly in bronze and steel because of their "industrial" feel, and I combine those metals with colorful cubic zirconias to create a contradiction of strong, yet delicate pieces. I've always had a fascination with mechanical and kinetic jewelry, so most of my creations have movement and can be played with ("fidget rings"). Each piece is individually made.
Ben Vandeveer, Copper Artist
Ben is an artist from Rohnert Park California. His medium of choice is scrap copper. Working with natural elements such as found leaves and branches, he meticulously sculpts heats and welds pieces that are close to real.
“There is something special about leaves. When you pick one up and truly examine it you'll find there are no two alike. Leaves are like people in many ways. Even when they grow from the same tree they can be dramatically different.”
Lorna Ho, Painter

I have been influenced somewhat by my Asian heritage and growing up in Hawaii. My art background is varied. I studied Chinese brush painting and watercolor but I currently enjoy doing mixed media collage. I exhibit my work in numerous galleries and venues throughout Sonoma County

Karen Apana, Ceramicist

Karen Nani Apana hand-builds clay sculptures and vessels. Some pieces are burnished and pit-fired outside and others are finished with low-fire glazes, stains and oxides and fired in a kiln. Currently, Karen is also excited about Urban Sketching, going out to draw various city scenes using ink pens and watercolor. She has turned some of her urban sketches into prints. Karen feels art and creativity are essential to health and well-being and feed our spirits no matter the medium or form.

Caroline Wong, Glass Artist
Caroline is a glass artist specializing in stained glass, fused glass, and mosaic making. Out of her studio at Sonoma Flow Farm she mostly upcycles used glass for her creations. Her style and themes are varied and have included Eastern and Western myths and fairy tales. She runs a teaching workshop out of her studio
Nicholas Wong, Fine Art Photographer

I’m drawn to beautiful forms, movement and vitality when and where I find it. My Muse has often resided in nature and human expression. In the past few years, I’ve tried to render images of birds in a calligraphic style. More recently, I’ve experimented with focusing on intensifying certain colors in trees and landscapes.
Allegra Alessandri, quilter and ornamented fabric artist
Allegra’s work is both practical and whimsical. She loves the structural component of composing and building quilts. She also loves collecting found objects, repurposing little treasures and bringing diverse pieces together to create meditative pieces in the Pocket Altars. These combine her love of traditional religious art, beads and jewelry. Much of the material she uses is upcycled, recycled and repurposed.
