Guided Home Improvement
DIY with the expertise of a Handywoman!
Have a home improvement project, but don't have the confidence to do it yourself?
Can't find a handyman to do the work?
Bids are way out of your budget?
Do it yourself with the help of a Handywoman!
Caroline will guide you as much or as little as you need: She can help you with design, sourcing and purchasing the material. She will lend you the tools you need for the job and demonstrate how to use them safely. Mostly, she will give you the confidence to become your own Handy(wo)man.
Deck Remodel
"Even though we are the antithesis of handy-people, Caroline coached us through the demolition of our old deck and the construction of a handsome new structure. She was there every step of the way, from design to choosing materials to driving the final screw. In addition to being smart, patient and fun to work with, Caroline generously let us use her sledgehammer and giant nailing gun. What more could you ask?"

Under Deck Covering
"My husband and I were looking for a contractor to do a small job installing slats to the back of our home. With all the building going on in Sonoma County, it was impossible to find someone to do the job. We are not handy people and weren’t certain we could do the work, however Caroline gave us the confidence to attempt the project. She did all the “hard” work - measuring, ordering materials and most importantly, she supplied all the necessary tools. To our surprise, the work was really enjoyable and not as hard as we imagined! We had a good time doing the work and have a sense of pride that we did it ourselves."

Pebble Mosaic
Natalie created this mosaic in a day. She had no previous experience in working with concrete but a very good design sense!
Shed Building
Gabriel built a shed for his high school senior project.
With Caroline's guidance he learned to read a plan and to use power tools. He would meet with Caroline in the morning for instructions on the work of the day and then work on his own unless he needed a second pair of hands.
Bathroom Remodel
"Just as I was about to give up on ever liking my ensuite bathroom, I heard about Sonoma Flow Farms. I have become a bit of a DIY-er but knew this project was above my pay-grade. Caroline listened patiently while I described my dislikes of the existing surface and thoughtfully made her own suggestions. At all times I felt I was being guided through the process not steam-rollered by someone taking advantage of my lack of knowledge.
"Caroline finds the perfect balance between explaining the process, demonstrating the skills, and then giving you the skills to do it yourself. This was not just more satisfying from a financial point of view, but I learnt more than I ever imagined I could have done from one project. I now have the know-how to carry out similar projects on my own and of course a STUNNING new ensuite surface I am proud of."
